Study Abroad
University of the Arts London semester
and year-long study abroad programs offer US undergraduate art and design
students the opportunity to experience British art and design education, with
all the resources and support that this world-class institution offers. As
well as exploring one of the great cultural centres of the world - a vast and
complex city with a rich history and a dynamic presence.
Students discover
a London that is off the tourist trail: the people, markets,
studios and communities at the creative heart of London's
vibrant culture.
Studying in London
Study Abroad students are taught alongside the colleges’
undergraduates. Typically, students coming to London from
the US find that our program requires you to work more
independently than you are used to. Our faculty will work with
you to help you realise your goals and ambitions by giving
guidance and helping you to identify the resources you need. You
will not always find 'classes' as you know them, but you will
find it a very stimulating way of learning.
Courses are delivered through a variety of learning and teaching structures, which include individual and group tutorials, projects, seminars, lectures and museum, gallery and studio visits. The latter gives the opportunity to put what you are learning into its historical and cultural context, and immerse yourself in London!
While you are a student at you will also be expected to make many independent visits to galleries and exhibitions, and do independent research.
